

SPRINGHILL LUMBERJACK FESTIVAL
The Springhill Lumberjack Festival is always held on the second week-end in October. We will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary on October, 10 – 11, 2008!
Springhill, located in the Piney Woods of Northwest Louisiana, has always been tied to the timber industry since its first sawmill began operation in 1896.
The festivities begin at noon on Friday in our
Activities include Gospel Music on Friday Night. (No admission fee)
Saturday starts with our Annual Lumberjack Festival
Parade at 10 A.M. on
Our Antique Car and Motorcycle Show begin at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday and cost is $10 per vehicle and an Antique Tractor Show that has no fees to enter and all events are free to spectators.
Our “Kids Korner” is open on Friday and Saturday and children enjoy “Kids Timber Sports, Construction Demonstrations, Games, and Arts & Crafts. Mardi Gras Krewe, Artemis/Springhill has been sponsor for “Kids Korner” for several years so they add a little of our Louisiana Heritage as well.
Some special events will be our “Mostly Mutts Pet
Show”. Sponsored by McMahen’s
Kindergarten – 2nd Grade area schools will compete in our Poster Contest and 3rd – 12th grades can enter our Photo Contest with categories being, “Springhill Heritage”, “Landscapes”, and “Hometown Faces”. No Fees.
